busy little kids
and we struggle to keep up;
then they turn eighteen
my son just turned eighteen and you wonder where the time went to. sometimes it’s hard to enjoy all the demands and busy-ness of little children, but it is a joy and a gift to see them grow into men and women.

tom, the ending of this poem can be either funny or sad to me depending on how i take it. i can do circles around my kids on some days now, but i’d love to go back to the days they wore me out.
it is amazing how this process goes so quickly. you are right it is a joy and a gift and i will try to remember that instead of longing for those “good old days”
